Job Description

This is the 2026 GAYLOR ELECTRIC SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM specifically designed for HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.

Program Overview: A comprehensive 8-to-10-week paid summer internship opportunity aimed at high school students. The program welcomes over 200 students annually and places them at various national Gaylor Electric locations and job sites. It’s designed for career exploration in construction, honing technical skills, and developing robust professionalism.
Program Duration: 8 to 10 weeks during the summer.
Compensation: This is a paid internship opportunity.
Internship Locations: Interns can be placed across the country. Specific locations mentioned include: Indianapolis, IN; South Bend, IN; West Lafayette, IN; Columbus, IN; Louisville, KY; Columbus, OH; Cincinnati, OH; Nashville, TN; Huntsville, AL; Atlanta, GA; Charlotte, NC; Fort Myers, FL; Orlando, FL; Tampa, FL.
Available Roles/Departments: Interns can gain experience in a variety of areas, including:
• Field
• Manufacturing
• Project Management
• Engineering (Architectural Engineering, Electrical, Civil and Construction)
• BIM/VDC
• Safety
• Corporate roles (such as Accounting, Human Resources, Education, Information Technology, and Marketing).
Program Activities & Development: The internship goes beyond on-the-job tasks, offering structured career development components:
• Resume development workshops

• The experience culminates with an academic capstone presentation or a craft skills assessment.
