Job Description
This role is for the 2026 Commercial Banking Summer Internship – Early Careers program at Wells Fargo. It is a structured 10-week program designed for undergraduate students, typically running from June to August 2026 (exact dates TBD).
Program Overview:
The internship aims to provide participants with a basic understanding of Commercial Banking and potential career paths through hands-on experience. Interns will work with experienced teams within one of Wells Fargo’s Commercial Banking businesses, gaining exposure to the company’s operations, business strategies, and culture. The program focuses heavily on intern development, preparing them for future career steps by providing insight into Wells Fargo’s corporate and credit culture, opportunities for professional development, skill acquisition, community involvement, networking, and analytical training specific to the line of business.
Key components of the summer program include:
• Induction Week: A week-long onboarding and training session that includes networking opportunities with peers and leaders across Wells Fargo.
• On-the-job experience: Interns will have meaningful and in-depth experiences, actively participating in a high-performing team’s day-to-day activities to build analytical skills and understand key processes.
• Professional support: Interns will be partnered with high-performing employees who serve as resources and coaches, offering guidance, feedback, and support.
• Virtual speaker series: Top Wells Fargo leaders provide insights into making the most of the summer experience and discuss trends in the financial services industry.
• Organized networking activities: Opportunities for community involvement and networking with peers and employees across Wells Fargo.
In this role, interns will:
• Participate in formal internship program activities, workshops, and various initiatives.
• Complete numerous assignments to become familiar with policies and procedures, addressing low-to-medium complexity tasks.
• Conduct research and financial analysis to assess client needs and identify optimal Wells Fargo products and services.
• Partner with relationship managers, product specialists, and credit underwriters to support real-time business efforts that drive client outcomes.
• Receive direction from a manager while exercising independent judgment, developing knowledge of compliance and risk management requirements.
• Prioritize work, apply attention to detail, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
Program Locations: Offers are made for specific office locations based on candidate preference and business needs. Interns will be notified of their specific Commercial Banking business placement prior to the program start. Available locations include: Atlanta, GA; Boston, MA; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ.

Required Qualifications, US:
• 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• Note: Wells Fargo will only consider candidates presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States who will not require work visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date between December 2026 or May/June 2027. All majors are welcome.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills.
• Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities (e.g., volunteerism, student organizations, study abroad, leadership positions, non-profit involvement).
• Proven ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a collaborative, change-driven atmosphere.
• Energetic self-starter who proactively takes initiative, acts with urgency, remains curious, and has a genuine interest in learning and growth.
• Demonstrated knowledge, interest, and/or experience in finance, accounting, and sales.
Pay Range:
The hourly pay varies by location:
• Atlanta, GA: $36.06/hr
• Boston, MA: $43.27/hr
• Charlotte, NC: $36.06/hr
• Chicago, IL: $39.90/hr
• Dallas, TX: $36.06/hr
• Minneapolis, MN: $36.06/hr
• Phoenix, AZ: $36.06/hr
