Job Description: Pharmacist-in-Training (Pharmacist Intern)
This position is for a Pharmacist-in-training, also referred to as a Pharmacist Intern, at Swedish Edmonds.
Overall Role and Responsibilities:
The individual in this role will function as a pharmacist-in-training and is authorized to perform nearly all the duties of a licensed pharmacist. This must be done under the direct supervision and direction of a pharmacy preceptor. A critical limitation of this role is that the intern may not perform the final check of medications.
Working in conjunction with a pharmacy preceptor, the intern is responsible for:
• Helping to ensure that patients receive safe, efficient, and cost-effective drug therapy.
• Providing clinical drug information to a variety of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, as well as to patients.
Required Qualifications:
• Current enrollment in an accredited school of pharmacy.
• Upon hire, candidates must possess either a Washington Pharmacist License OR a Washington Pharmacist Intern Registration.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
