• Team: Under close supervision, provides technical support to chemistry laboratory programs, interacting with personnel at all skill levels.
• Mission: Provides essential technical support and guidance for chemistry laboratory operations and programs, ensuring timely analytical work and continuous improvement.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Equipment: Assist in the installation, operation, and maintenance of chemistry lab equipment and related duties.
• Conduct Analysis: Perform laboratory duties, including processing samples and operating analytical equipment, to support the total operation of the analytical laboratory.
• Ensure Quality: Prepare and verify calibration and quality control standards, promoting safety, quality, and continuous improvement for the laboratory.
• Communicate Findings: Interact with laboratory personnel and customers to facilitate daily analytical work, assist with data interpretation, and address special requests.
• Manage Resources: Investigate and implement new analytical method development, maintain laboratory inventory, and communicate with vendors for supplies and services.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year university pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or a closely related field; OR a recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with a bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or a closely related field.
• Experience: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Skills: Possesses strong data analysis and problem-solving skills; highly accurate and detail-oriented; strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrates initiative, organizational skills, and ability to work well under pressure; demonstrates ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.
