About Company

Charleston Wine + Food (CHSWF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2005 by community leaders with the aim of promoting and elevating Charleston’s culinary brand. Its primary goal is to position Charleston as a leading culinary destination and attract national and international attention through a multi-day wine and food festival. The festival, held annually during the first full weekend of March, brings together local flavor with top chefs, winemakers, authors, storytellers, artisans, experts, and food enthusiasts globally. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025, CHSWF has renewed its commitment to not only showcase the local culinary industry but also to actively contribute to its growth and sustainability. The organization’s mission is to create purpose-driven programs that foster a sustainable, vibrant, and connected food and beverage community in the greater Charleston area.

Job Description, Detailed

This is an Internship opportunity for the FALL 2025 + SPRING 2026 semesters.

Location: Charleston, SC

Position Overview: Charleston Wine + Food (CHSWF) is seeking dynamic, professional, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individuals for an internship program. Interns will collaborate directly with various directors, managers, and administrators at the CHSWF Headquarters. The internship is structured to provide hands-on experience within the organization’s Development, Education, Marketing, Production, and Programming departments.

Internship Duration & Schedule:
• The internship spans a total of 24 weeks, divided into two 12-week semesters.
Fall Semester: September 8, 2025, through December 8, 2025 (excluding Thanksgiving week).
Spring Semester: January 5, 2026, through March 27, 2026.
• Interns are expected to work 12 hours per week.
• Dates and hours offer flexibility to accommodate school and class schedules.

Learning Objectives: Interns will gain valuable experience and develop skills in:
• A deep understanding of Charleston Wine + Food’s operations and overarching team initiatives.
• Methods by which teams are supported to achieve organizational goals.
• Overall development strategies pertinent to event planning and non-profit organizations.
• Significant networking opportunities within the Charleston community and with international participants.
• Personal development in areas such as teamwork, communication, and time management.
• Successfully and effectively working across multiple organizational departments.
• Navigating multiple work streams simultaneously.

• Ability to research and report effectively.

Compensation:
• Interns will receive an hourly wage.
• There is an opportunity for College Credit. Students must coordinate with their respective schools to understand the requirements for obtaining college credit. CHSWF will work individually with each student to ensure the internship aligns with the college’s credit requirements.
