This role is for a patient care provider working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The position involves delivering essential therapeutic and administrative services to patients within an interdisciplinary healthcare setting, adhering to professional practices and ethical standards.
Role Summary/Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to perform direct patient care activities, contributing to the overall well-being and recovery of patients. This position is ideal for nursing students looking to gain practical experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provides direct patient care, including administering treatments under the supervision of an RN.
• Delivers basic patient care services such as assisting with ambulation, transferring, and positioning patients.
• Aids patients with personal hygiene assistance.
• Assists with prescribed bowel and bladder programs.
• Provides meal set-up assistance.
• Assists with various procedures and treatments as directed and supervised by the Registered Nurse, ensuring all tasks are within the scope of training and validated competency.
Required Qualifications:
• Must be currently and actively enrolled in an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
• Must have successfully completed both the theory and clinical aspects of “Fundamentals of Nursing.”
• Must have successfully completed a clinical rotation, with a preference for experience in medical/surgical nursing.
• Possession of current BLS certification (Basic Life Support).
Preferred Qualifications:
• One year of prior work experience as a nurse assistant.
