Job Description
This job description is for a Scientific Data Analyst position offered through ENSCO’s Lead from the Front (LFF) Military Transition Program.
Program Overview (LFF Military Transition / DoD SkillBridge)
The LFF program is an approved SkillBridge internship under DoDI 1322.29. It offers eligible service members the chance to gain valuable work experience through industry-specific training during their final 180 days of military service. The program is open to eligible service members from any branch, regardless of rank (enlisted or officer).
• Nature of Internship: This is an unpaid internship through the DoD SkillBridge program. Participants continue to receive their payment and benefits directly from their respective military branch as active-duty service members.
• Eligibility for SkillBridge:
• Must have served at least 180 days on active duty.
• Must be within 180 days of separation or retirement.
• Must be eligible to receive an honorable discharge.
• Must have completed any service Transition Assistance Program.
• Requires Unit Commander approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge prior to the internship start.
Position Title: Data Analyst Specialist II (Internal Position Title)

Role Summary:
ENSCO, Inc. is seeking a Scientific Data Analyst with direct experience in analytics regarding time series data sets. The successful candidate must possess an understanding of waveform propagation and be able to apply it to conduct analysis of data sets. The role requires demonstrated understanding of digital signal processing, mathematics, and in-depth knowledge of time series analytical expertise. The position is within ENSCO’s Mission System Group (MSG) Division.
Required Qualifications:
• 2+ years experience as a 9S100 seismic analyst in the United States Air Force.
• Minimum of 3 years related experience in the following areas:
• Demonstrated experience in seismo-acoustic waveform analysis.
• Experience using seismo-acoustic analysis software such as ARS (Analyst Review Station), Geotool/Seatools, SAC (Seismic Analysis Code).
• Detailed understanding of local, regional, and teleseismic seismic phases.
• Understanding of digital signal processing, including spectral analysis.
• Observational ability to interpret time series waveform data, identify seismic, infrasonic, and hydroacoustic phases, and distinguish signals from background noise.
• A self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience navigating within the Linux environment.
• Experience running programs in Python, Matlab, or other scientific software.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Must possess an Active TS/SCI clearance and be a U.S Citizen.
Desired Qualifications:
• Ability to build an average of 60 seismic events per day.
• Experience working with large disparate data sets, identifying long-term and short patterns in data.
• Experience with data fusion analytics.
• Experience with Magnitude, Distance, Amplitude Correction (MDAC) methodology.
• Ability to conduct spatio-temporal analysis.
• Familiarity with workflow in an operational environment.
• Familiarity with Government mission sets.
