About the Job:

The CAD Drafter / Designer position serves as a strong foundation for a career in architecture, process equipment/piping design, and facility design. In this role, you will be responsible for creating design drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software in both 2D and 3D formats, specifically for mechanical, electrical, piping, plumbing, and equipment layouts for our design-build food and beverage process facility projects. This position requires a working knowledge of architectural concepts, practices, regulations, standards, and building materials.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Creating design drawings using CAD software in both 2D and 3D formats, following the direction of Engineers and more Senior Designers.
• Coordinating with Designers, Architects, Engineers, and Project Managers to produce design drawings per project specifications.
• Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, mechanical/electrical/plumbing drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment layouts, and piping plans.
• Analyzing available information to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete design drawings.
• Ensuring that drawings comply with building regulations and architectural standards.
• Preparing documents to a level consistent with set quality standards while maintaining project schedules.
• Taking responsibility for the development and coordination of small drawing sets.
• Working with client and engineering disciplines to define requirements in the preparation of design and construction documents.
• Checking finished drawings against markup and CAD Standards.
• Managing multiple tasks and meeting established deadlines.
• Working with BIM360, Navisworks and MS Office (Outlook, Word and Excel), CAD, AutoCAD 2020 and Plant 3D.
• Assisting Construction Managers with coordination issues in the field.
• Researching CAD drafting / designing best practices.
