Job Description
• Job Title: NURSE (CCT RN) – Critical Care Transport Registered Nurse
• Location: Ventura County, CA (Moorpark)
• Employment Type: IMMEDIATE HIRING! NURSE PER-DIEM
• Shift/Availability: This position is for NIGHTS ON-CALL ONLY! This means the nurse is available to respond to calls during night hours when needed, rather than working fixed shifts.
• Purpose: To provide compassionate, high-quality service and both basic and advanced patient care during inter-facility transportation of patients.
Responsibilities:
• Assessment & Action: Nurses are expected to assess each situation using their expertise to determine the best course of action for supporting, monitoring, and treating patients in critical care situations.
• Scope of Practice: Provide care aligned with the Registered Nurse scope of practice as defined by the Board of Registered Nursing and per CCT standardized procedures.
• Critical Thinking: Utilize strong critical thinking skills to manage critically ill or injured adult or pediatric patients and support physicians’ orders.
• Team Leadership: Act as a team leader, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients, and maintaining regular equipment checks and stock.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively and professionally with all allied health and public safety personnel, as well as fellow crew members.
• Professional Development: Accountable for maintaining all required certifications and ongoing training pertinent to the position.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• License: Valid Driver’s License.
• Nursing License: Current Registered Nurse license.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU RN experience OR 5 years of ED/CCT/Cardiac/Trauma RN experience. This experience requirement is non-negotiable.
• Current Certifications:
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) provider status.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) provider status.
• BLS-C (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) or equivalent provider status.
• Certifications to Obtain (within 6 months of hire):
• PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support) Provider Certification.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Provider Certification.
• Incident Command System (ICS) Courses: Refer to FEMA for:
• IS-100B (ICS 100).
• IS-700A (NIMS – National Incident Management System).
• Preferred/Highly Valued Experience/Certifications:
• Critical care inter-facility transfer experience.
• CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) Certification.
• CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) Certification.
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) Certification.
• ENC (Emergency Nurse Certified) Certification.
• BTLS/PHTLS (Basic Trauma Life Support/Prehospital Trauma Life Support).
