Job Description:

Position: Operation and Maintenance Intern

Purpose: The Operation and Maintenance Intern will work closely with skilled staff at a Veolia project to learn and understand the daily operation and maintenance of a water/wastewater treatment facility.

Responsibilities:

• This internship provides hands-on experience in a wastewater environment.
• The intern will work under the guidance of a full-time employee (FTE).
• Internships focus on learning and exposure to fundamental business processes and procedures.
• The position involves laboratory, technical, maintenance, and groundskeeping work in the operation of a wastewater treatment facility.
• Candidates should have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Work Environment:

• Environments vary by internship function, from office to field to plant.
• The goal is to provide tangible industry job experience.
• The intern should be able to work in a wastewater environment.

Qualifications:

Required: High School Diploma/GED.
Targeted Candidates: Rising seniors, Tech School students.

Skills/Abilities:

• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening, presentation, and facilitation).
• Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships.
• Strong ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Willingness to work under the guidance of an experienced FTE.
• Reliable and punctual attendance.

Physical Requirements:

• Capability to lift objects weighing approximately 30-35 lbs.

Additional Information:

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour.
