Job Description:
Position Summary:
This role assists licensed pharmacists by accurately and efficiently dispensing prescribed medication and other healthcare products to patients. The position provides customer service while receiving prescription and refill requests, operating the pharmacy computer system, and maintaining patient records.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
• Assist the Pharmacy Manager and Pharmacists with dispensing medication and healthcare products.
• Receive prescription and refill requests from customers and clinics.
• Retrieve, count, pour, weigh, mix, pack, and/or label products under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Maintain customer profiles and prepare insurance forms.
• Operate the cash register and perform checkout procedures.
• Stock and take inventory of merchandise, and notify the Pharmacy Manager of needed supplies.
• Assist with maintenance and stocking functions in pharmacies with Automation.
• Assist with handling outdated and damaged products.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked work area.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
• High School Diploma (Required) or equivalent (GED).
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (Required).
• Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, pharmacy laws, rules, and guidelines.
• Good written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy terminology and understanding of insurance plans.
• Good multi-tasking, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
