Job Description: FALL 2025 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM – Chicago Opportunities

Lettuce Entertain You is offering a Fall Internship Program with a culinary focus. This is an abbreviated program taking place in Fall 2025 in Chicago.

Program Details:

Educational Component: Consists of bi-weekly educational meetings running from September 23-December 16, 2025. These meetings will cover topics such as restaurant financials, menu creation, marketing, and more, led by Lettuce industry experts.
Practical Component: Interns will work in an hourly role within one of Lettuce Entertain You’s Illinois restaurants. The specific start and end dates for this practical portion will be determined jointly by the restaurant operators and the intern. The assigned role will align with the intern’s supervising manager at the restaurant location.
Compensation: USD $16.20 – USD $20.00 /Hr.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in and complete designated program activities, including seminars, management feedback, and group events.
• Perform essential functions and key responsibilities listed in the hourly job description (e.g., host, server, runner, busser, cook, etc.) for the assigned role at the designated restaurant location.
• Safely and effectively use and operate all necessary tools and equipment.
• Work a variety of days and shifts including weekends and nights.
• Effectively communicate in order to perform and follow job requirements in written and spoken direction.
• Multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment.
• Work in a confined, crowded space of variable light, noise and temperature levels.
• Ability to move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit or stand for an entire shift and move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven or slick surfaces.

Requirements:

• Currently a junior year (or higher) of college/university/culinary school studying hospitality, culinary arts or business.
• Ability to commute to the Lettuce Corporate office on Chicago’s far northside for the bi-weekly meetings.
• Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
