Job Description:

M&T Bank in Buffalo, NY is seeking professionals for a technology-related project/internship role. This is a developmental opportunity with a start date in June 2026, and the recruitment process will begin in Fall 2025. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

The intern will work under the guidance of a mentor to complete technology projects and assignments within a specified timeframe. This role offers exposure to various areas, including software development, technical engineering, cybersecurity, or data engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Support project-based activities in software development, technical engineering, cybersecurity, or data engineering.
• Potential to complete basic programming and testing.
• Draft plans and scripts of a technical nature (depending on the supported area).
• Adhere to company risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
• Identify and escalate risk-related issues to management.
• Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit points and regulator issues.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

The jobholder works under immediate supervision for a defined period.

Education and Experience Required:

• Currently pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Development, or related STEM field.
• Minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0.

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5.
Java, SQL, Python, C# or similar programming knowledge with some practical application.

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $28.00 per hour, dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience. The exact rate is available from the recruiter and considers geographic location.
