Job Description:

This is an expat position in the United Kingdom, specifically at RAF Lakenheath, with a minimum duration of 2 years. It’s an operational support role for an active fighter unit, where you’ll be responsible for the security and integrity of the systems that keep the F-35 jets flying.

You will be a critical member of the F-35 Operations Team, working as an ALIS (Autonomic Logistics Information System) administrator. ALIS is the IT backbone for planning, maintaining, and sustaining the F-35’s systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance for program access.
• Be willing and able to travel for military deployments/detachments (ship and/or shore) for extended periods, depending on operational needs.
• Work various shift hours, including weekends, to support customer mission requirements.
• Potentially undergo a pre-employment medical exam to ensure capability to deploy to austere environments.
• Act as a system administrator, data manager, network administrator, and mission planning administrator.
• Serve as the first point of contact for customer inquiries, troubleshooting problems and escalating issues.
• Be assigned tasks in various ALIS administrative roles to develop skills.
• Obtain Subject Matter Expert status for the ALIS product suite.
• Be the primary customer point of contact for technical items.
• Train ALIS administrators and users on the ALIS system.
• Provide assistance/augmentation to local ALIS leadership.
• Perform backups, restores, and disaster recovery of systems/databases/network equipment.
• Handle system/software/firewall/account maintenance and monitoring.
• Manage laptop re-imaging, troubleshooting, and account maintenance.
• Install system-wide software and allocate mass storage space.
• Maintain smooth, secure operation of multi-user computer systems through coordination with peers, Tier2, and engineers.
• Review processes/procedures and collect system operational data for analysis.
• Coordinate extranet equipment installations with enterprise and local communications facilities.
