Job Description: RF Technician
Kratos is seeking an RF Technician to support Department of Defense customers. This is a mid-level position requiring a strong understanding of engineering fundamentals and practical knowledge of radio frequency (RF)-based electronic systems. The ideal candidate will leverage military-acquired skills in radio and satellite communication, with Kratos providing further training for a smooth transition to civilian life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provides engineering analysis, integration, and development support.
• Develops SATCOM signal environments in collaboration with customers to meet event execution requirements, including link budget analysis.
• Develops test plans, conducts testing, and interprets, documents, and presents the results to engineering peers, leadership, and the government customer.
• Actively communicates and participates in the full SDLC leveraging Agile methodologies.
• Performs reoccurring international travel to potentially austere environments for deployed system installations, upgrades, and sustainment efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Must have an Active TS/SCI clearance.
• BS or MS Degree in EE or technical degree and relevant work experience
• Knowledge of SATCOM equipment including, but not limited to, antennas, HPAs/SSPAs, up/down-converters, LNAs, and modems.
• Experience with RF test equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters, and Oscilloscopes.
• Experience with cable maintenance and fabrication, including CAT-5/6, Coaxial RF, and AC/DC power.
• Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings.
• Knowledge of SATCOM signals including modulation, error correction, and associated signal generation equipment. Familiarity performing link-budget analysis.
• Experience with troubleshooting systems.
• Ability to react quickly in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to communicate technical approaches and details within small project teams, including team interaction and presentation.
• Typically requires +6 years of experience, and a Graduate degree. This role also typically involves some management support and mentoring Jr. Employees/Engineers.
Desired Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or relevant field (5-10) years of relevant experience in lieu of MS)
• Familiarity with computer networks.
• Data analysis skills.
• Military experience or working in a military environment.
• DoD Test experience.
• Working knowledge of current DoD Space Control systems.
