Job Description:
Title: Michigan Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation Intern
Department: Education and Outreach
Reports To: Michigan R3 Hunting and Shooting Coordinator
Employment Category: Non-Exempt
Job Summary: The intern will assist NWTF staff and partners in various tasks related to conservation and educational outreach throughout Michigan. This is a seasonal, full-time internship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Attend regional meetings and training opportunities.
• Collaborate with statewide partners to develop a Michigan R3 work plan.
• Travel to and participate in outreach and educational events across the state.
• Assist with firearm safety at workshops and clinics.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Assist in planning and organizing NWTF events.
• Contribute ideas for future statewide R3 strategic efforts.
Requirements:
• Required Skills/Abilities: Career interest in forestry, wildlife, natural resources, education, outdoor recreation, or teaching; ability to work outdoors in various conditions; access to reliable vehicle; excellent verbal and written communication skills; good computer skills; excellent time management and prioritization skills; ability to work independently; valid driver’s license.
• Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; current enrollment in a natural resource-related university program.
• Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; willingness and ability to work outdoors.
• Remote Or Telecomm Status: Position allows for remote work, but requires in-office/in-field work as needed.
