Job Description: Civil Engineer – Mid-Atlantic Energy Evolution Practice
VHB is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their Mid-Atlantic Energy Evolution Practice. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of energy projects, ranging from renewable energy initiatives to transformative infrastructure developments. The position contributes to the advancement of clean energy goals.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with a team of professionals in the development of civil engineering plans and specifications for energy and land development projects.
• Conduct fieldwork (individually or in pairs) to gather data, take measurements, and capture site photos and videos.
• Produce engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist in preparing land entitlement and permitting documentation.
• Create reports that present design calculations.
Skills and Attributes:
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in coordinating engineering tasks with the project team, integrating design aspects, and developing project deliverables.
• Strong computer skills; experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
• Familiarity with stormwater design software (e.g., PondPack, HydroCAD, StormCAD, AutoCAD S&S Analysis) is desirable.
• Self-motivation, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• 0-1 years of land development/civil engineering internship or co-op experience (preferred).
• 1-3 years of land development/civil engineering experience (preferred).
• Prior experience with land development design (erosion control, stormwater management, site grading) is preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
