Job Description: Product Management Intern

AARP’s Product Initiative organization is seeking a Product Management intern to work closely with a mentor and collaborate with various teams. This internship offers exposure to the entire digital product lifecycle, from initial ideation to fully scaled solutions reaching millions of customers. The intern will rotate through several projects, gaining experience in diverse aspects of product development.

Responsibilities: (Specific responsibilities will be tailored to the selected candidate, but may include):

Product Management: Gathering and documenting customer and stakeholder input to define product requirements.
Content Strategy: Assisting in the planning and development of immersive digital content experiences.
Marketing: Planning and executing marketing and email campaigns.
Business Operations: Exploring the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to streamline departmental processes.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university as a rising junior, senior, graduate student, or postdoctoral student, maintaining enrollment throughout the internship.
• Pursuing a degree in computer science, communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively, prioritizing tasks and anticipating needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with diverse teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Ability to work in an in-office/open office environment.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid environment (AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work is limited to the United States and its territories).

Compensation and Benefits:

• hourly rate: $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, and $28 for Ph.D. candidates.
• Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
