Job Description: Support Technician (Robotics) – Field Technician

This position is for a Field Technician, generally a mechanical or electrical engineer technician, familiar with robotic work cells and manufacturing/fulfillment center environments. The role requires practical, hands-on skills in addressing both hardware and software issues within robotic and automated equipment. This technician role is typically utilized once a workcell safety system has reached a mature phase requiring less engineering expertise.

Responsibilities:

Daily Operations: Facilitates the daily operation of Alpha/Beta level work cells.
Onsite Support: Provides onsite software, controls, and hardware support and coordination for product tests.
System Setup & Configuration: Supports the setup and configuration of software and hardware systems.
Collaboration: Collaborates with and supports remote hardware and software development teams, providing local coordination as needed.
Troubleshooting: Assists in identifying hardware issues and software bugs; performs and/or supports root cause analysis and implements corrective actions.
Preventative Maintenance: Performs planned daily, weekly, and monthly hardware preventative maintenance activities.
Repairs: Completes unplanned maintenance/repairs as needed, following prescribed instructions.
Hardware Installation: Installs hardware changes.
Documentation & Reporting: Provides documentation and updates as directed, including data collection, analysis, and report creation.
Coordination & Collaboration: Coordinates, collaborates, and builds relationships with onsite parties to meet priorities and deadlines.

Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, Mechatronics, or a relevant field is required. Prior experience through internships, co-ops, and/or clubs is also required.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
Proven success in fast-paced environments, demonstrating innovative problem-solving skills.
