Job Description
Job Description: Under the supervision of the VP of Manufacturing and Director of Product Development, this position involves a variety of project-related activities centered around creating and updating facility maps for Maintainer’s three properties. This includes:
• Using 2D CAD software (AutoCAD or NanoCAD): Updating existing facility maps and creating new ones.
• Detailed Measurement: Accurately measuring existing facilities, meticulously documenting equipment, electrical, water, and drain lines using layered CAD drawings.
• Collaboration: Working closely with employees in Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and HR/Safety to incorporate details such as door numbers, fire extinguisher locations, and eye wash stations into the maps.
• Adherence to Procedures: Following all company and departmental procedures, safety policies, and directives outlined in the Maintainer Employee Handbook and Maintainer Quality Manual.
• Additional Projects: Performing other duties as assigned by the VP of Manufacturing and Director of Product Development.
Qualifications:
• Essential: Previous experience with 2D CAD software is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is also necessary.
• Preferred: Current or planned enrollment in a two-year Engineering Design or four-year Mechanical Engineering program (or equivalent).
• Skills: Ability to apply common sense and problem-solving skills; understanding and application of standard drawing practices (line conventions, dimensioning); knowledge of logarithms, exponents, and simple statistics; ability to read and comprehend technical instructions, write detailed correspondence, and present information effectively.
• Physical Demands: Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds; prolonged sitting and computer use; ability to stand, reach, grasp, and handle objects; exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.
The company is Maintainer, and it operates three properties. The job requires a strong understanding of CAD software and attention to detail. The candidate should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with various departments.
