Job Description:
This internship is for a Database Automation Engineer working within the GovCloud database team. The intern will contribute to the development of vital services ensuring seamless database and application operation. Specific responsibilities will include working on automation and tool development.
Required Qualifications:
• U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen (born or naturalized) without dual citizenship. This will be verified using two REAL ID Act documents (U.S. Passport, Passport Card, REAL Driver’s License, Global Entry Card, U.S. Government CAC/PIV). The candidate must also be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Services screening with fingerprint scan and meet all customer and government screening standards.
• Education: Currently enrolled and working towards a BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field. Must be returning to school the following quarter/semester to continue working towards degree completion. Must be attending a North American college or university.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals.
Additional Requirements:
The candidate must agree to complete a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for a Moderate Public Trust position with the U.S. federal government and obtain any further clearances deemed necessary for the role.
