Job Description (Data Science Intern):
This 12-week internship (May 21 – Aug 8, 2025) offers a competitive salary, networking opportunities, project experience (both independent and team-based), philanthropic activities, career development, and the possibility of a full-time offer.
The role focuses on data science and analytics, requiring expertise in:
• Modeling: Forecasting, optimization, data mining, analysis of complex datasets.
• Machine Learning & Statistical Methods: Conducting studies using descriptive and supervised machine learning methods, advanced statistical methods, and the latest algorithms. Specific methodologies mentioned include least squares regression, logistic regression, sampling methodologies, time series, survival analysis, cluster analysis, categorical data analysis, decision trees, multivariate methodologies, non-parametric techniques, principal components, and linear programming techniques.
• Reporting & Presentation: Summarizing findings and delivering polished presentations to business leaders.
• Data Analysis: Research, analysis, and modeling on organizational data; analyzing key metrics; building technical knowledge to support research and analytic responsibilities.
• Project Management: Conducting research projects, encompassing project design, data collection and analysis, summarizing findings, developing recommendations, and communicating impact to leadership.
• Algorithm Development & Application: Developing and applying algorithms or models to improve operations or answer business questions.
• Business Partnership: Partnering with business leadership, providing recommendations on analytics applications, and communicating analysis to senior leadership.
Required Skills:
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and data interpretation skills with a solid foundation in mathematics, probability, and statistics.
• Advanced knowledge of applied methodologies (as listed above).
• Advanced skills in Python, SAS, SQL, R, JMP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Ability to design and implement model documentation and monitoring protocols.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience with technical systems, datasets, data warehouses, and data analysis techniques.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills).
• Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Qualifications:
• Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or Statistics, with at least one semester remaining after the internship start date.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA (out of 4.0 scale).
• Junior or Senior classification preferred.
• Previous internship experience is a plus.
Work Environment: Flexible hybrid work environment (2 days a week in the office).
