Job Description: Product Management Intern, Summer 2025 (San Francisco)
This full-time internship (May-August, 40 hours/week) offers a chance to contribute to a nascent product line within Meraki’s rapidly expanding analytics market (a multi-billion dollar industry). As a Product Management Intern, you will work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and partner teams. Your responsibilities will include:
• Collaborating with engineers and customers: Identifying new product concepts and go-to-market (GTM) strategies.
• Developing new products: Specifically, working on an MX product for service provider customers, interacting with various teams (sales, marketing, hardware, and software engineering).
• Conducting market research: Performing customer research and competitive analysis, alongside product documentation creation.
• Strategic planning: Creating product requirement documents (PRDs) and roadmaps for new product lines.
• Working with the Executive Team: Contributing to the establishment of a winning product strategy.
• Supporting Market Adoption: Collaborating to ensure market adoption and rapid growth of new product lines.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Upcoming graduate of an MBA program, technical degree, technical boot camp, or apprenticeship program.
• Strong business background (MBA, Product Management, or Marketing experience preferred).
• CCNA/CCNP/CCIE routing/switching/security certifications are a plus.
• Experience with or strong interest in networking, cloud technologies, and emerging disruptive technologies.
• Exceptional user empathy and a keen desire to understand customer needs.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, proactive attitude, and commitment to product quality.
• Creativity and skill in solving technical problems.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Intern Program Overview:
The 12-14 week internship program involves working directly on subteams. Interns begin with a smaller project (e.g., integrating new tools) before moving to a larger, cross-functional project (e.g., building infrastructure for a new service). This approach provides exposure to various languages and technologies, promotes professional growth, and allows for a sense of ownership. Each intern is paired with a mentor for ongoing feedback and guidance.
