Procurement Internship at CSX
This 10-week internship offers a comprehensive immersion into CSX’s procurement methods and culture. Interns will be placed within the Procurement Department and will have the opportunity to contribute to real-world projects that impact the company’s financial performance.
The program provides a platform to gain experience and understand the intricacies of corporate procurement. CSX views this internship as an opportunity to identify and attract top talent for future opportunities within the company.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities:
• Project Support: Interns will play a key role in completing identified procurement projects.
• Business Partner Collaboration: Cultivate relationships with business partners, analyzing marketing, operating, and capital projects to understand economic tradeoffs and inform business decisions.
• Analytical Support: Provide analytical support for operations reviews, resource allocations, and financial valuations.
• Strategy Development: Contribute to the development of short- and long-term strategies for supply chain and resource procurement.
• Benefit Quantification: Develop and utilize procurement strategies to quantify benefits and drive sound economic decisions.
• Communication & Presentation: Communicate analyses through presentations to senior management within the department and business partners from other departments.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related major field of study from an accredited institution.
• Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 (based on a 4-point scale).
Knowledge and Skills:
• Academic Distinction: Demonstrated academic achievement with a strong interest in procurement and supply chain management.
• Leadership & Initiative: Proven leadership abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• Presentation Skills: Ability to develop and deliver presentations to senior level audiences.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
