Software Engineering Internship at DE&ET
This paid, 12-week summer internship program is designed for junior-level students to apply their technical skills to real-world projects with industry leaders in Technology. The program includes professional development, mentorship, networking opportunities, and career placement assistance.
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will:
• Make a significant impact on some of the most successful brands in the media and entertainment business by participating in challenging projects, in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
• Work alongside talented technologists who share your passion!
• Partner with business, analytics, and engineering teams to design, build and maintain ease for use data structures to facilitate reporting and monitoring key performance indicators.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, etc.)
• Knowledge and experience in one and/or more of the following programming languages: Java, Python, C++ & REST APIs
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Familiarity with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Node, and React
• Understanding of relational and non-relational databases (SQL, NoSQL)
• Process-driven and very detail-oriented
• Strong problem-solving and analysis skills
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
• At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program AND returning to school the semester/quarter following the internship OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
• Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year preferred.
Additional Requirements:
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information:
• Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
• The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2025 through August/September 2025
• Fully available from Monday – Friday, for the duration of the 12 week internship, 40 hours each week
• Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank/Glendale/Santa Monica, CA area
• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
Pay Rate: $40 per hour in Santa Monica/Glendale/Burbank, CA. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
