The Tone:
This is a remote, fixed-term contract role at SpaceXSI, with full-time preferred. SpaceXSI is building Super Intelligence, including its Colossus supercomputers, Grok models, and a suite of applications, to help humanity understand the universe and achieve multiplanetary life. In this role, you will be crucial in enhancing Grok by providing high-quality data annotations and evaluations focused on applied mathematics. Your work will directly train Grok to produce mathematically sound, accurately modeled, and practically applicable solutions, helping to advance the understanding of the universe.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time (preferred)
• Type: Contract (6 months fixed-term, with potential for extension or conversion)
• Location: Remote (United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India)
• Pay: $45–$75 hourly (US-based)
• Mission: Help train Grok to distinguish flawed or inadequately justified mathematical approaches from solutions that are sound, accurate, and applicable.
• Tech Stack: Proprietary software applications, Colossus supercomputers, Grok models, Grok Bot, Grok Build, Grok Imagine, Grok Voice, X

What You’ll Actually Do
• Evaluate: Evaluate AI model outputs, independently verify mathematical solutions, and identify subtle errors in reasoning, modeling, or numerical computations.
• Produce: Produce clear, rigorous, and technically sound solutions and explanations for complex mathematical problems.
• Annotate: Use proprietary software applications to accurately annotate and label data for designated projects, ensuring high-quality datasets.
• Collaborate: Collaborate with technical teams to develop and train new tasks, contributing to the successful implementation of innovative technologies.
• Solve: Solve problems across diverse applied mathematics domains, including probability, statistics, numerical analysis, optimization, and dynamical systems.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A master’s degree or PhD in mathematics with a specialization in an applied mathematics subfield; or a medal in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) or comparable high-level mathematics competition.
• Experience: Demonstrated expertise in applied mathematics domains such as numerical analysis, scientific computing, differential equations, probability, statistics, and computational linear algebra.
• Skills: Strong mathematical writing skills, meticulous attention to precision, the ability to maintain logical consistency throughout complex arguments, and English proficiency at CEFR C1 level or higher.
• Bonus: Peer-reviewed publications in applied mathematics, previous experience in AI tutoring or model evaluation, teaching experience at the college or university level, or strong research skills.
