Staff Accountant – Houston | Quiddity

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Quiddity, located in Houston, TX. Quiddity is an award-winning civil engineering, planning, environmental, and surveying firm that delivers solutions for both public infrastructure and private development projects across 14 offices in Texas and Florida. This position offers an early-career accounting professional the opportunity to build a strong foundation and gain hands-on experience across various accounting functions. The role is important for supporting day-to-day accounting operations and maintaining accurate financial records for the company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Perform daily accounting tasks across various areas of the business.
• Accounts Receivable: Process payments and manage account follow-up activities.
• Accounts Payable: Review, code, and process invoices, alongside maintaining vendor accounts.
• General Ledger: Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring the accuracy of accounting records and assisting with month-end close.
• Analysis: Reconcile accounts, research any discrepancies, and analyze account activity for trends.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
• Experience: Preferred: 1-2 years of accounting experience.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational and time-management skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Eagerness to learn and grow within the accounting profession, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, capability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
