What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and meticulously analyze financial reporting critical for Alcoa’s senior business leaders, actively support key business planning and forecasting decisions across global operations, comprehensively analyze performance against established financial metrics, and partner effectively with plant finance teams to analyze operating results and variances, identifying both business challenges and opportunities.
• Financial Accounting: Contribute directly to the monthly close and external financial reporting processes, proactively evaluate how emerging accounting requirements will affect the business, collaborate with team members to develop new or improve existing accounting policies or procedures, and clearly communicate the financial implications of complex accounting and business matters to plant and legal-entity leaders.
• Internal Audit: Evaluate Alcoa’s business processes, internal controls, and management systems across corporate and operating locations, assess processes and controls, support evaluations of internal controls over financial reporting and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and identify and communicate clear process improvement opportunities to business leaders.
• Treasury/Investor Relations: Build comprehensive experience across various Treasury activities, which may include cash management, corporate finance, insurance risk management, and digital treasury, analyze financial information and contribute to projects supporting liquidity, capital structure, risk management, and investor communications, and partner with Treasury and Investor Relations professionals on high-priority initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, with Accounting or Finance majors preferred. Entry-Level career experience.
• Experience: Graduation date of December 2026 or Spring 2027.
• Skills: Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and an ability to work on a team.
• Bonus: A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, with a major GPA of 3.2 or higher, courses in basic accounting completed with at least a “B” average, and a desire to grow your career within Alcoa.
