Sales Academy Trainee – Tempe, AZ | MetLife

The Tone:
This is a full-time training program at MetLife, located in Tempe, AZ. What You’ll Actually Do
• Complete a comprehensive 9-month Sales Academy Program, engaging in structured classroom and on-the-job learning from subject matter experts.
• Support the sales office through direct interaction with brokers and customers, including making cold calls, conducting enrollment meetings, and assisting account executives with territories.
• Cultivate essential sales competencies such as communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship building.
• Acquire in-depth knowledge of MetLife’s diverse group benefits products and services, including Disability, Dental, Life, Auto & Home, MetLife Legal, and Critical Illness.
• Utilize approved AI tools to enhance daily efficiency for routine tasks like drafting and summarizing, and evaluate their outputs with guidance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience, with a foundational understanding of the MetLife organization, the industry, and its competitive landscape.
• Experience: 0-5 years of related work experience, with a willingness to relocate before and after program completion, and the ability to travel and drive to meetings.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, presentation, and analytical skills, along with sound business judgment, computer proficiency, and the ability to build relationships and influence others. The ability to obtain Life, Accident and Health, and Property & Casualty licenses is required.
• Bonus: 2-5 years of prior sales experience.
