Senior Analyst, U.S. Client Onboarding- Spanish Speaking | Scotiabank

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Scotiabank, located in Dallas, Texas. Scotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas, guiding customers, their families, and communities to achieve success through a broad range of advice, products, and services across personal, commercial, wealth, private, corporate, and investment banking, as well as capital markets. This role is crucial for assisting in the onboarding of new client relationships, ensuring compliance with US KYC/AML, FINRA, BSA, SEC, FATCA, and other regulations impacting the US Business.

• Mission: Owns the efficient, compliant, and client-centric onboarding process for US Global Banking and Markets clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Facilitate: Facilitate the efficient, compliant, and client-centric onboarding of US Global Banking and Markets clients.
• Implement: Implement new procedures and regulations with team members and stakeholders to meet and exceed internal and external audit standards.
• Adhere: Adhere to AML controls, including reviewing high-risk customers, conducting PEP screenings, and following standard KYC/AML policies.
• Update: Update the onboarding platform tool with new or updated client information as required.
• Resolve: Resolve day-to-day matters during the onboarding process, escalating complex issues to appropriate departments and team members for resolution.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in business, a related field, or compliance, or equivalent experience, with recognized expertise in current and anticipated regulatory frameworks impacting client onboarding in the US, specifically US KYC/AML, Sanctions, and FATCA.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years in financial services, coupled with a basic understanding of the banking and capital markets business.
• Skills: Strong communication, analytical, organizational, project management, and planning skills; knowledge of businesses, products, operations, systems, and organization; ability to work independently and in a team setting; fluent in speaking Spanish and Portuguese.
