Financial Planning Practice Lead – Calgary/Vancouver | Scotiabank

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Initiatives: Work to develop and implement enterprise-wide financial planning initiatives and tools for Advisors, supporting client value, business growth, and sales effectiveness.
• Coach and Train: Contribute to the design, development, and delivery of training curriculums that support the continuous professional growth and capability of Advisors, including onboarding new Advisors.
• Support Advisors: Act as a trusted resource by providing responsive support on financial planning matters, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance effectiveness for Advisors.
• Ensure Quality: Review and assess the quality of financial plans created by Advisors to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, adjusting focus as business needs and industry standards evolve.
• Maintain Standards: Uphold and promote adherence to professional standards, including internal policies, procedures, and industry best practices related to financial planning and client engagement.
The Must-Haves
• Background: University degree in business, commerce, or equivalent experience related to the practice of financial planning, with demonstrated experience as a financial planner or client-facing Advisor.
• Experience: Proven track record of training and coaching others.
• Skills: Strong presentation skills, particularly related to financial matters and communicating complex concepts clearly; ability to work as part of an interdependent team and individually; proven skills in building and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, peers, and leadership; superior time management and prioritization skills.
• Bonus: Completion of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or the equivalent IQPF designation for Quebec residents.
