2027 Leadership Development Program Associate | Fortegra

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Fortegra. Fortegra operates in the insurance and financial industries, encompassing a wide range of functions including underwriting, finance, IT, data analytics, and compliance. This program is critical for cultivating future talent, offering recent college graduates hands-on experience across multiple business units. Associates will gain invaluable exposure to senior leadership, build a strong professional network, and receive dedicated mentorship and leadership development to advance their careers.

The TL;DR

• Team: Reports to a designated department leader/rotation manager.
• Mission: To contribute to strategic and operational initiatives across various business units through a structured 2-year rotational program, gaining diverse hands-on experience and professional development.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite, SQL, Python, Tableau, IT security tools.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Department Operations: Assist with day-to-day tasks and ongoing projects within assigned departments, maintain organized records and documentation, and test internal procedures while providing recommendations for improvements.
• Conduct Research and Analysis: Gather and analyze data to support decision-making, research industry trends, create reports for various levels of management, interpret data for financial and operational trends, and develop forecasts.
• Collaborate on Initiatives: Actively participate in meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project reviews, working effectively with cross-functional teams to complete assignments and contribute to collective goals.
• Prepare Reports and Presentations: Create comprehensive summaries, dashboards, or slide decks to present findings, and support leadership in areas such as monthly management reporting, valuation modeling, variance analysis, budgeting, and strategic planning.
• Engage in Professional Development: Attend company-organized training sessions and networking events, proactively seek feedback and apply learning to assigned tasks, and join internal teams related to Corporate Responsibility initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Finance, Accounting, or a related Business School degree. This is an early-career role for recent graduates.
• Experience: Demonstrated strong academic performance. Relevant work or internship experience and/or schoolwork with a focus in information systems, statistics, risk management, actuarial sciences, data analysis, finance, accounting, or other business school curriculum. Insurance and/or financial industry experience is not required.
• Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Bonus: Additional technical skills may be preferred for certain roles, such as SQL, Python, or Tableau for Data Analytics, and knowledge of IT security tools for Cybersecurity. A highly motivated and proactive approach to learning, an eagerness to learn, and strong adaptability.
