Tax – Spring 27 Internship | LSL, LLP

The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at LSL, LLP, offering flexibility for remote work or from the Tempe office. LSL is one of the largest regional accounting firms, headquartered in Orange County, California, providing solid guidance, support, and solutions to businesses, governments, and non-profits. This role matters as interns gain real-world public accounting experience, learn the firm’s culture and values, and receive professional training and mentor guidance from experienced professionals, many of whom are Cal State Fullerton alumni or former Chapman University faculty. Interns will develop valuable knowledge and skills, building a foundation for a successful career in accounting.

• Team: Works with staff, senior, manager, and partner within the Tax team
• Mission: Assist the Tax Department during the busy season by preparing tax returns and supporting client engagements.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Prepare Individual, basic Business, and Partnership tax returns on behalf of clients.
• Research: Research changes in tax regulation and develop tax planning skills.
• Collaborate: Contribute as an individual and team member to support client engagements.
• Utilize: Develop an understanding and capability with accounting software, including CCH, Practice CS, and Engagement.
• Communicate: Develop administrative, professional, and interpersonal skills to organize, analyze, and communicate effectively with others.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be currently enrolled in school and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Experience: Completion of a tax class; junior or senior standing preferred.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organized with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments, proficient with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles.
• Bonus: Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred; demonstrated leadership skills; and eligibility to work in the U.S. permanently without requiring sponsorship at any point.
