Intern – Operational Finance (Denver) | Turner Construction Company

• Team: Reports to Accounting Manager, Operational Finance; Accountant, Operational Finance; or Senior Accountant, Operational Finance
• Mission: Provide financial services support to profit centers by assisting with various accounting functions.
• Tech Stack: MS Office, MS Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Billing: Assist accountants in ensuring client contractual requirements are met regarding billing and accounts receivables.
• Invoice Processing: Process accounts payable for vendor and subcontractor invoices, ensuring compliance with lien waivers and contractual requirements.
• Financial Close Support: Assist with completing the monthly close process, ensuring client bills and project costs are accurately posted or accrued.
• Data Management: Facilitate data entry processes for project-specific vendor invoices and prepare multi-project invoices for central financial processing.
• Audit Assistance: Support all internal and external audit requests by providing necessary documentation and information.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrolled at a 4-year college or university offering accredited degree programs, with recommended majors in Accounting or Finance, and at least 1 year of education.
• Experience: Basic knowledge of finance or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience; must be willing to work a standard work week.
• Skills: Computer data entry, database and MS Office skills, intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills, exceptional organizational skills, and professional verbal and written communication.
• Bonus: Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including student leadership, volunteerism, or community involvement; passionate and willing to learn about Turner’s finance business strategy, culture, and core values; enthusiastic, proactive, flexible, adaptable, and eager to tackle new projects with attention to detail; able to work independently with some oversight and in a team environment.
