Staff Accountant | LHH

The Tone:
This is a hybrid Staff Accountant role for a client of LHH Recruitment Solutions, located in Carrollton, TX. The client is seeking a dedicated professional to manage essential financial operations. This position plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization by contributing to the full-cycle close and audit preparation processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Month-end Close: Provide comprehensive support for month-end close activities, including the accurate and timely preparation and posting of journal entries to ensure financial data integrity.
• Reconciliation & Analysis: Execute detailed bank reconciliations and thoroughly analyze balance sheet accounts to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Audit Preparation: Develop and organize various financial schedules and documentation to effectively facilitate annual audits, ensuring readiness and compliance with external requirements.
• Financial Review: Systematically review all financial data for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established compliance standards, contributing to reliable financial statements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, providing a strong theoretical and practical foundation in financial principles and practices. This role is ideal for an early career professional looking to establish expertise in corporate accounting.
• Experience: Candidates must either be eligible to sit for the CPA exam or have made partial progress toward completing the CPA certification, demonstrating a commitment to professional accounting standards.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in executing financial reconciliations for bank and balance sheet accounts, preparing and processing accurate journal entries, and supporting comprehensive month-end close procedures. Capable of developing clear and organized schedules for audit purposes and meticulously reviewing financial data for accuracy and compliance.
