The Tone:

This position is for an accounting student striving for CPA eligibility and provides an opportunity to develop technical skills in tax, build rewarding business relationships, and help clients solve problems. The role is critical for contributing to the delivery of assurance, tax, and consulting services to clients across various industries.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reconciliation & Analysis: Work with client personnel to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data for accuracy.
• Tax Preparation: Prepare various tax returns, including individual, corporate, and partnership returns.
• Payment Calculation: Calculate tax extension or estimated payments for clients as required.
• Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings alongside Forvis Mazars partners and managers to gain experience and contribute to client relationships.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate positions require a bachelor’s degree, with a minimum cumulative overall GPA of 3.0, and achievement of a minimum grade of C or higher in job-relevant coursework and intermediate accounting. Candidates must also be eligible to sit for the CPA exam in at least one U.S. State by the start date of the role.
• Experience: Solid technical accounting knowledge is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is essential, along with reliable transportation to and from the assigned office for off-site meetings and events.
• Skills: Effective time management, strong oral and written communication, ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, problem-solving attitude, willingness to take initiative, close attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and against deadlines.
• Bonus: Prior internships in a public accounting firm performing tax work are preferred.
