Staff Accountant, General Ledger | hyrUP
The Tone:
This is a hybrid Staff Accountant role, requiring one day per week in the office (Tuesday), at hyrUP. This established company is experiencing significant growth and momentum within its finance function, driven by active process-improvement initiatives and an expanding SOX program. This position is vital for an early career professional to gain broad General Ledger exposure, contribute to a scaling team, and grow into a senior role. • Mission: Support core General Ledger activities and contribute to an efficient monthly close while engaging in process improvement and SOX initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• GL Support: Support General Ledger team activities including internal allocations, fixed assets, reclasses, and month-end accruals.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare journal entries and complete balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Close Management: Help drive an efficient monthly close process on a fast-moving team.
• System Mastery: Learn the General Ledger system end-to-end, delving into its processes and details.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to process-improvement and SOX/internal-controls initiatives as the function expands.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree, in accounting, at an early career level.
• Experience: Approximately 1–3 years of accounting experience, with journal entries and reconciliations as core responsibilities.
• Skills: Strong Excel skills, solid command of the Microsoft Suite, organized and coachable, comfortable in evolving process environments, and possessing a self-starter mentality.
• Bonus: Preferably a bachelor’s degree in accounting, ideally prior experience in industry, and comfort with a faster-paced monthly close.
