This is a full-time, early career role at IBM, located in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, where deep technical and industry expertise is delivered to a wide range of public and private sector clients globally. As an Associate, you will actively work with clients to solve real-world business challenges through technology, innovation, and strategic consulting. This position is vital for helping organizations modernize critical financial processes, improve financial performance and reporting, and utilize technology, data, automation, and Artificial Intelligence to transform how finance functions operate.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Understand Processes: Collaborate with finance, accounting, business, and technology teams to thoroughly understand existing financial processes, identify requirements, pinpoint challenges, and discover opportunities for improvement.
• Support SAP Processes: Provide support for SAP-enabled finance processes, which include financial accounting, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, comprehensive reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, controlling, and related financial activities.
• Translate Requirements: Analyze complex financial and business requirements, then assist in translating these needs into effective SAP-enabled process and technology solutions.
• Implement Solutions: Actively participate in various aspects of SAP solution implementation, such as configuration, rigorous testing, data validation, detailed documentation, issue resolution, and deployment activities under experienced guidance.
• Analyze Data: Analyze financial, operational, and business data to accurately identify trends, thoroughly evaluate performance, and provide insights that support informed business decision-making.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold or be currently completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration with a concentration in Finance or Accounting, or a closely related business field. MBA candidates with relevant finance, accounting, or financial business-process experience are also encouraged to apply, alongside a strong foundational understanding of core finance and accounting concepts.
• Experience: This is an entry-level position. Required is demonstrated application of finance, accounting, analytical, or business problem-solving skills, acquired through coursework, academic projects, internships, case competitions, research, student organizations, IBM SkillsBuild, certifications, or other practical experiences. Prior SAP experience is explicitly not required.
• Skills: Possess the ability to analyze financial and business information, identify trends and problems, evaluate processes, and formulate structured recommendations. The role also requires the ability to communicate financial information, analysis, and recommendations clearly and effectively to both business and technical audiences, coupled with curiosity and a strong willingness to learn how enterprise technology supports complex finance and accounting operations.
• Bonus: Experience applying finance or accounting concepts through internships, academic projects, case competitions, research, or other practical experiences. Exposure to areas such as financial analysis, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cost accounting, management accounting, financial modeling, business analytics, or process improvement. Familiarity with financial systems, ERP concepts, spreadsheets, business intelligence, data visualization, or other business technologies is welcomed. A keen interest in SAP Finance, finance transformation, Artificial Intelligence, automation, analytics, enterprise technology, and consulting is also a plus.
