Rotational Process Engineer | LANXESS

The Tone:
This is a full-time Rotational Process Engineer role at LANXESS, primarily based out of Pittsburgh, PA, with required travel and relocation throughout North America during the program. LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company with approximately 12,000 employees across 32 countries, focused on the development, manufacturing, and marketing of chemical intermediates, additives, and consumer protection products. This 2-3 year development program is designed to build a strong foundation within the organization and cultivate core engineering skills, preparing individuals for future engineering roles at manufacturing plants. The program emphasizes hands-on learning through impactful compliance and continuous improvement projects, contributing directly to the company’s operational excellence and sustainability goals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Participation: Engage in a comprehensive 2-3 year development program designed to cultivate engineering expertise and organizational understanding.
• Plant Rotations: Complete rotations at the Americas headquarters and various manufacturing plants, gaining exposure to diverse operational environments.
• Skill Development: Actively grow and strengthen core engineering skills through practical application and mentorship during each rotation.
• Project Execution: Learn hands-on by developing and implementing compliance projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive efficiency and operational excellence by developing and executing continuous improvement projects across different sites.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering, indicating entry-level professional engineering knowledge.
• Experience: 0-3 years of engineering experience in a professional setting.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong problem-solving and communication skills essential for project work and team collaboration.
• Bonus: Prior intern or co-op experience, particularly within manufacturing and/or design environments, is preferred.
• Other: Ability to travel and relocate over the 2-3 year program period is required.
