Staff Accountant | HaFSBX

The Tone:
This is a full-time Staff Accountant role at HaFSBX, located in Maplewood, Minnesota. HaFSBX designs and manufactures custom material handling systems for various industries, including food processing and pharmaceuticals. This position offers an early-career accountant broad exposure to the entire accounting function, providing a significant opportunity for professional growth alongside the company. The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of a growing manufacturing business.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Month-End Close: Support the month-end close process, including journal entries and account reconciliations, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Manage Accounts Receivable: Oversee Accounts Receivable activities, preparing invoices, applying payments, monitoring aging reports, and following up on collections.
• Manage Accounts Payable: Handle Accounts Payable, processing and coding invoices, securing approvals, and preparing payments efficiently.
• Manage Expenses: Manage company credit card activity and employee expense reconciliations accurately.
• Drive Process Improvement: Help identify and implement accounting process improvements and automation initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant accounting experience. This is an early-career role requiring a working knowledge of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
• Experience: 1–2 years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to reconciliations, AR, AP, or month-end close.
• Skills: Proficiency in Excel, comfort working with accounting/ERP systems, strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to manage deadlines and prioritize, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, QuickBooks, or similar systems; sales tax experience.
