Junior Accountant | Meraki Tax Advisors

What You’ll Actually Do
• Daily Accounting: Record financial transactions, prepare journal entries, and maintain general ledgers.
• Account Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card accounts to ensure data accuracy.
• Reporting & Compliance: Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, and support tax return preparation.
• Documentation & Audits: Organize supporting documentation for various filings and audits.
• Client Support & Projects: Respond to internal inquiries, maintain accurate client records, and support the senior team with special projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Foundational accounting skills, including knowledge of debits and credits, general ledger maintenance, and basic financial statement preparation.
• Experience: Proficiency with accounting and spreadsheet software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, clear written and verbal communication, and analytical and problem-solving abilities for identifying inconsistencies.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; relevant internships or entry-level experience in accounting or tax are a plus; interest in tax advisory services and a willingness to develop knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
