What You’ll Actually Do
• Cash Management: Account for cash flow by managing deposits, processing applications, overseeing collections, and developing cash forecasts to ensure liquidity.
• Payment Processing: Efficiently process both payment and void requests, ensuring accurate and timely transactions within established guidelines.
• Inquiry Resolution: Provide clear and timely responses to inquiries concerning payments, resolving discrepancies and supporting internal and external stakeholders.
• Financial Reporting & Close: Actively assist in the preparation of detailed financial reports and support the comprehensive month-end close processes to meet reporting deadlines.
• Financial Analysis: Systematically evaluate financial information, including variances and account balances, to comprehensively analyze assets, liabilities, and capital.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, or equivalent relevant experience that demonstrates foundational accounting knowledge. This is an entry-level position designed for early career professionals.
• Experience: Possesses 0-2 years of experience in accounting. While not required, prior experience within the healthcare industry is preferred and beneficial for understanding the specific context of Centene’s operations.
• Skills: Demonstrates intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, including practical experience with functions such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and XLOOKUP, to perform data analysis and reporting.
