The Tone:
This is a newly created full-time role at CooperDouglas, located in Corona with a hybrid schedule. CooperDouglas is partnering with a homebuilder to fill this key position. The Property Accountant will support a diverse portfolio of properties. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance for the homebuilder’s operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Close Process: Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for assigned properties, including journal entries, accruals, amortization, and reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze property-level financial statements and variance reports for management review.
• Ledger Management: Maintain general ledger activity and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
• Account Reconciliation: Review and reconcile bank accounts, tenant ledgers, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Budget Support: Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing property-level insights to support decision-making.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience: 1+ years of property accounting experience.
• Skills: Strong Excel proficiency, detail-orientation, excellent organizational abilities, and problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Experience with Yardi Voyager or other real estate accounting systems.
