2027 Sales & Operations Development Program (Starting June 2027) | Rexel USA

The Tone:
This is a 12-month Sales & Operations Development Program, located in the Greater Portland Area, starting in June 2027. Rexel USA is one of the largest distributors of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication, and related supplies in the United States, operating through over 460 warehouse storefront locations. This program, known as the Accelerated Commercial Experience (ACE), is designed to provide early-career associates with broad, hands-on exposure to the Electrical Distribution industry. Participants will develop commercial, operational, and leadership skills to make an impact and explore various career paths within the organization.

The TL;DR

• Team: Part of the Platt team, working alongside experienced Rexel leaders and team members.
• Mission: To accelerate early career development by providing broad exposure and building essential commercial, operational, and leadership skills for future roles in sales, operations, project management, procurement, marketing, and leadership.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Warehouse & Logistics: Learn the full-cycle supply chain processes involved in storing and moving materials, including order fulfillment, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping.
• Sales: Gain practical experience across counter, inside, and outside sales, developing customer service, product knowledge, selling, and digital tool skills.
• Operations: Understand the key business drivers influencing safety, profitability, facility maintenance, inventory, working capital, and customer service, utilizing data and tools for sound business decisions.
• Project Management: Manage customer, sales, and vendor relationships, coordinating orders, tracking shipments, arranging billing, and preparing project quotations.
• Elective Rotations: Tailor the program experience through deeper dives into previous rotations, product specializations (e.g., Automation, Lighting, Gear, Datacom), or customized rotations with local leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree preferred, specifically in Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field. A High School diploma or GED is required.
• Experience: 0-1 years of experience in a service, business, or sales-oriented role for external candidates. Relevant internship/co-op experience is preferred. Internal candidates require less than 12 months of experience with Rexel and good performance standing.
• Skills: Ambitious, curious, collaborative self-starter energized by learning business operations; enjoys problem-solving, building relationships, and teamwork; demonstrates professionalism, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Bonus: A minimum 3.0 GPA upon graduation for candidates with a bachelor’s degree; equivalent military or industry-related experience will be considered; openness to relocation will expand career opportunities.
