The Tone:
This is an early career, full-time position at Martin Marietta, an American-based company and a leading supplier of heavy building materials located in various plant locations, with relocation assistance available. Martin Marietta builds aggregates, cement, ready-mixed concrete, and asphalt, and operates a Magnesia Specialties business. • Team: Reports to the Plant Manager
• Mission: To develop individuals with technical, operational, and leadership skills to effectively manage production, lead crews, and ensure safe, efficient operations in the Aggregates business.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Word, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Training: Participate in an 18 to 24-month formal training program to develop technical, operational, and leadership skills within the Aggregates business through hands-on experience and structured learning.
• Engineering & Production Support: Apply engineering principles to assist in pit development, plant design, and operational improvements, including operating and maintaining various plant equipment like crushers, screens, conveyors, and heavy off-road machinery.
• Safety & Environmental Compliance: Adhere to and enforce all prescribed ethics, safety, and environmental measures, ensuring all activities align with the Company’s Mission, Vision, Values, policies, and Code of Ethical Business Conduct.
• Leadership Development: Participate in activities designed to prepare for future supervisory responsibilities, developing skills in employee coaching, communication, work planning, and crew leadership while gaining experience leading small teams.
• Quality Control & Improvement: Become proficient in performing quality control testing and understanding product specifications, while contributing to operational and continuous improvement projects that enhance plant efficiency, productivity, and safety.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; this is an entry-level position.
• Experience: No prior full-time professional experience is required, though previous internship, co-op, or industry-related experience is beneficial.
• Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated leadership potential, ability to work effectively in a team environment, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to work safely in an outdoor industrial environment around heavy equipment.
• Bonus: Familiarity with or knowledge of the mining, aggregates, construction materials, or related industries is preferred, along with a valid driver’s license.
