Staff Accountant | Myers & Stauffer

The Tone:
This is a Staff Accountant role at Myers & Stauffer, a certified public accounting and health and human services consulting firm. The TL;DR
• Role: Early Career
• Team: Multi-disciplinary team including other accountants, analysts, clinical, and technology staff.
• Mission: Perform analyses of financial and non-financial information to verify data integrity and ensure compliance with Federal regulations, state Medicaid policies, and other applicable laws.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word), data querying tools.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analysis: Perform detailed analyses of financial and non-financial information to determine compliance with Federal regulations, state Medicaid policies, and other applicable laws.
• Compliance Research: Conduct research to determine compliance with relevant Medicaid or other government program regulations.
• Policy Review: Review applicable Federal and State policies and regulations relating to healthcare, eligibility, reimbursement, and quality incentive programs.
• Documentation & Confidentiality: Prepare written documents supporting professional decisions while maintaining security and confidentiality of all protected health information.
• Data Integrity: Verify the integrity of data and maintain thorough electronic documentation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; this is an Early Career role.
• Experience: Experience with health care auditing and data analysis, along with the ability to review and apply statutory/regulatory or other policy language.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent verbal and written communication, well-organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and data querying tools.
• Bonus: CPA, CPA candidate, or CFE certification; ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize assignments, and travel based on client and business needs.
