Summer 2027 Corporate Tax Intern (June-August) | MFS Investment Management

The Tone:

• Team: Corporate Tax Department, reports to the Tax Manager.
• Mission: Assist the corporate tax department in meeting Federal and State tax compliance requirements and participate in diverse tax-centric projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Analysis: Assist in preparing capital gain/loss analysis, hedge analysis, and other components for the Federal Income Tax Return.
• Foreign Reporting: Assist in preparing foreign financial information reports.
• State Compliance: Assist in preparing state income, franchise, and excise tax returns and/or quarterly state estimates.
• Account Reconciliation: Assist in analyzing general ledger accounts to provide roll forward of tax accounts and identify items of income/expense requiring different tax treatment than book treatment.
• Special Projects: Assist in ad-hoc tax research and tax-related special projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, or Finance, with an enrollment status as a rising senior (class of 2028).
• Experience: Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Skills: Strong business writing skills, oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with Corporate Finance employees, other MFS departments, and outside Fund auditors.
• Bonus: Experience with PeopleSoft.
