Accounting & Finance Intern (Year-Round) | Charter Steel
The Tone:
This is a year-round internship at Charter Steel, located in Saukville, WI. Charter Manufacturing is a fourth-generation family-owned business where a will to grow drives continuous improvement. As a member of the Charter Manufacturing family, Charter Steel is a leading American supplier of carbon and alloy steel bar, rod, and wire products, and the largest steel coil processor in North America. This role offers hands-on experience in operations finance, focusing on financial analysis, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration, helping to strengthen essential Excel, Tableau, and analytical skills.

• Tech Stack: Excel, Tableau, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint), Oracle
What You’ll Actually Do
• Understanding: Develop an understanding of accounting and operations finance processes.
• Support: Support financial analysis, monthly reporting, and business performance initiatives.
• Assist: Assist with cost variance analysis and other operations finance projects.
• Manage: Support fixed asset capitalization and disposal activities.
• Improve: Document processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with current status of at least a Sophomore level. This is an Entry-Level position.
• Experience: Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, ability to succeed in a team environment, strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Bonus: Accounting or Finance major with multiple related courses completed toward major, strong attention to details, accuracy, and reliability, advanced Excel skills, Oracle experience.
