The TL;DR

• Mission: This person owns the accurate reconciliation and management of fixed assets, ensuring financial packages are precise for audits.
• Tech Stack: Yardi or Sage (preferred), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Support: Assist in year-end audit requests, including the compilation of financial packages.
• Reconciliation: Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts for fixed assets and accumulated depreciation, ensuring the fixed asset subledger matches the general ledger monthly.
• Asset Management: Process all changes related to fixed assets, including additions, transfers, and disposals, within the fixed asset system, and assist with periodic physical inventories.
• Reporting & Compliance: Run monthly depreciation, prepare fixed asset rollforwards and supporting schedules, and adhere to established accounting policies and internal controls.
• Process Improvement: Support fixed asset system maintenance, data cleanup, and reporting, while contributing to process improvement initiatives and other assigned accounting projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with a preference for experience using Yardi or Sage.
• Skills: Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, experience with balance sheet reconciliations, and the ability to process fixed asset transactions accurately.
• Bonus: Experience with Yardi or Sage accounting software.
• Mandatory Requirement: U.S. Work Authorization is required.
