Staff Accountant | HEI Hotels & Resorts

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at HEI Hotels & Resorts, located in the Salt Lake City Metropolitan Area. HEI Hotels & Resorts operates the Marriott Downtown at City Creek, a hospitality environment that blends modern style with the spirit of the outdoors. This role is essential for ensuring the financial integrity and smooth operation of the hotel by accurately managing financial records and assisting the Controller with key financial reports.

• Mission: To assist the Controller in directing the hotel’s financial activities, safeguarding assets, and preparing financial reports in accordance with established standards.
• Tech Stack: Property management system, personal computer, calculator

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage Receivables: Post city ledger payments, reconcile and bill all city ledger accounts, and perform follow-up billing and credit collection.
• Process Invoices: Process all approved invoices for payment, ensuring accuracy of amount, coding, extensions, and taking all available discounts.
• Verify Purchasing: Ensure purchasing procedures are followed by comparing purchase order prices and quantities to invoices, and maintaining an accurate Purchase Order Log.
• Reconcile Accounts: Reconcile credit card backup to the General Cashier Summary, and record General Ledger and City Ledger reconciliations.
• Maintain Records: Handle all vendor inquiries, reconcile vendor statements, and maintain organized files for open, paid, and voided invoices.

• Background: Entry-Level.
• Experience: No specific years required, but accounting and hotel experience are preferred.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in operating a personal computer and calculator; effective verbal and written communication.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
